On 1 July 2025, the Department of Home Affairs in Australia increased citizenship application fees. We have highlighted below the citizenship fees for the most common types of citizenship applications below for your reference.

Citizenship where no test is required (over age of 60) | $345 | $350 |
Citizenship by Descent | $360 | $370 |
Evidence of Australian Citizenship | $275 | $280 |
Resumption of Citizenship | $240 | $245 |
Fee Concession vs Fee Exempt — What's the Difference?
Fee Concession
Applicants lodging a citizenship application may be eligible for a fee concession if they:
Hold a pensioner concession card, or
Are dependents under 18 of someone holding such a card.

Exempt from citizenship test (e.g. applicants over 60) | $40 | $40 |
Fee Exempt
Applicants may be fully exempt from paying the citizenship application fee if they meet one of the following conditions:
A child under 16 applying at the same time as a parent
Former British or Maltese child migrants (arrived between 1947 and 1967)
Members of the Australian Defence Force who have completed at least 90 days of service
Stateless applicants
